Tonight we are celebrating my hottie husbands birthday. Despite frigid temps, I am pulling out the dress above, but wearing it with high heel knee high boots. I'm gonna freeze, but at least it is in the name of love!
You are worth it, babe, because:
Love that.
I'm spending the afternoon getting ready. With Valentines day coming up, I feel like I am hitting two birds with one stone in my beauty preparations. Here are some of the things I have done or am planning on doing, again, all in the name of love!
How To Whiten Teeth For Cheap. Gotta get my teeth pearly white. I have not done this in awhile. I am a coffee and tea drinker, so it does make a difference.
Getting my glow on! I am in the need for a tan, so to help my skin look a bit more healthy and appealing, I grab my favorite glow lotion. It has bitty bits of the mineral mica in it, which is reflective and gives a healthy glow.
I shaped my eyebrows using this as a guide. We learned this in beauty school in wax class. This is the best tutorial on how to avoid over-tweezing and how to get the perfect shape.
Have you heard of "tightlining?" It is a new concept for me..basically it adds definition at the lash line, which gives the allusion of thick eyelashes. No more gloppy layers of mascara trying to get a thicker look. Brilliant!
Remember this post on why it is important to dry brush your skin before showering? Well, my brush fell from its hook and broke. :( I have noticed a difference in my skin for sure. When I dry brush, my skin feels much more smooth. Time to get a new brush!
There is something about this Essie Marshmallow white that I just love. It seems like the perfect winter color. This will be my nail color tonight, wonder if my date will notice?
Next week for our Valentines Day date, I will pull out the red. This matte red is so pretty. Have you tried matte nail polish yet? I love how quickly mattes dry!
This is awesome. This is exactly how we learned to polish in beauty school. Try it, it works! Remember, a coat of clear base coat, 2 coats of color, then a coat of top coat. It is what the professionals do!
This is by far the best foundation I have tried. It is light, yet gives coverage. I ran out, and bought some cheap stuff from my local drug store. Thank goodness it is almost gone, because my chin has decided it does not like the new stuff at all! It doesn't last and it is full of heavy sunscreens (hence the breakouts). I want my Korres foundation back!
I'm going to have to wear a scarf tonight, along with a coat. I have a sparkly black one that I plan on wearing like number 3 in the picture.
Last year I was wearing it on my head! So thankful to be healthy this year and have real hair!
This is a GREAT idea. Customize your bobby pins by painting them with nail polish! I think I will paint a couple with Marshmallow Winter White, then add some silver sparkle polish I have on top for a little glitz in my newly grown hair...
...which is about this length right now. I'm gonna pull out some fun big earrings. I like how big earrings look with short hair.

You are inspiring me to get on the ball with some good winter beauty routines! Great tips and suggestions. And I feel ya on having hair again and using your scarves! Although it has been 5 years this July since I finished chemo, I have been pulling all of my scarves out and wearing them different ways.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see the pictures! Have fun! :)

ReplyDeleteYou are a smoking hot couple. You radiate the love you feel for each other!!! Happy Birthday!!
ReplyDeleteOH how fun! Happy Birthday and enjoy your evening together! In all our travels you are going to the area which I fondest memories of.... I know it has changed since we lived in the area but if anything it is even more charming now than ever!
ReplyDeleteI love all the great tips!! I can't even wait to see how you looked for the date.......you better have taken a picture!!!! :) Lucky lucky man. You are so HOT!
ReplyDeleteI am a little behind on my blogs and just catching up. I was so excited to see that you went to Crave! We just went there last night and it is one of our favorite restaurants. I am Elle from Cotton Bottom Mama, and I have been reading your blog for 6 months or so maybe? And I don't think I've commented before. But I am in Omaha and love your recipes and your fun holiday posts. I have 2 questions: 1) is that your kitchen in your banner? If so, wow! 2) what brands do you recommend for less chemical exposure in beauty and makeup products? I keep reading about how terrible these products are, but it is fun to be girly and get glam sometimes. Thanks for a great blog!
